What’s the difference between teaching English to adults and Young Learners?

While you might think that an English language learner is an English language learner is an English language learner, there are a number of factors which affect how a person learns.

This includes, among others, nationality, educational background, motivation, and age.

The most obvious differences between teaching adults and Young Learners are:

  • Young Learners have shorter attention spans.
  • Adults can feel more anxiety than children.
  • Adult learners have more life experience that they bring into the classroom.
  • Young Learners require more discipline.
